So we have an official team message. It is with great sadness that we have had to pull out of the adventure to Dakar. This has been a joint team decision and has not been taken lightly. The buggy has performed brilliant but 5 days of the harsh Moroccan terrain has taken its toll. Yesterday’s stage was over 600km long, all off road, somewhere on that stage we ripped one of the rear brake caliper mounts off. The service team did a brilliant job of repairing the damage, however, after setting off this morning for Mauritania, it was apparent further damage has occured which made the buggy unsafe to continue. We are all gutted that we have had to head north instead of South. A more detailed report will follow when we get back to the UK
Such a sad message Nev, feel for you and the team, an adventure cut so short! On the plus side, guess this means you will have an excuse to go back. Hopefully catch up with you when your back.
