We had been working extremely hard for this event, with a lot of work done to the vehicle, not just repairs since returning from Africa but a host of reliability upgrades and functional upgrades. They all paid off with a successful finish, including the only SSV to complete the whole course and the optional breakout stage, giving us top SSV. The stages were extremely tough, with some very harsh terrain in the high Albanian mountains
Our new service team worked wonders on keeping the vehicle going, using expertise and initiative on re-building worn joints and general fettling. We met up with old friends from Africa and made a host of new friends from various nationalities. The whole Raid scene is built around a giant family of like minded individuals.
Tony and myself covered approximately 2800 miles driving down and back from Albania, taking in 8 countries. The service pickup covered 4400 miles overall. The SSV covered 1100 miles overall
Our fantastic Obor tyres did brilliantly, we did have one puncture from a nail picked up in a petrol Station and we had a failed valve, nothing to do with the quality of the tyres.
