Maintenance

As I have mentioned before we have the vehicle and it is in a state of stripdown at the moment. Once we have it back on 4 wheels we will be doing some photos and video with a walkround to give you all some in-depth details.

Part of this initial maintenance is to have the clutches serviced. The Can-Am Maverick X3 uses a continuous variable transmission (CVT). Power to the transmission is transferred from the engine via a belt and clutch system with a primary and secondary clutch. This belt and clutch system is put under intense stress and needs to be looked after. On inspection, it is obvious that this vehicle has suffered a blown belt sometime in its life, this has resulted in damaging the clutch and belt housing. Because I am removing the clutches so they can be sent away for servicing, it makes sense to replace the damaged housing.
